The payment dates for the different social subsidies that the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) offers over the holiday season have been made public.
Grants for the elderly will be disbursed on Friday of this week, while recipients of the disability grant will receive their payments on Monday of the following week.
On the first day, there’s no rush to take out cash. The funds will stay in the account until they are needed, the agency stated.
Here are all social grant SASSA releases December dates:
• Older Persons/Pensioners’ Grant: Friday, 1 December
• Disability Grant: Monday, 4 December
• Children’s Grant: Tuesday, 5 December
It is a reminder to all grant recipients that their SASSA gold cards will remain valid through December 2023 and will not expire.
Selected supermarkets, including Pick & Pay, Boxer, USave merchants, Checkers, and Shoprite, are where SASSA beneficiaries can pick up their payments. They can use their SASSA card to access the funds or have the money put straight into their bank account.
